A professional musician for much of his adult life, Erik brings to bladesmithing the sensibilities of a composer and jazz improviser. With an MA in composition and a deep love for the interplay of structure and spontaneity, he approaches each knife as a fusion of technical precision and creative expression. He values the silence within a design—the space created by restraint—as much as he values the bold, forged textures that transition into silky, polished bevels.
