Classic and polished in all of the right places, yet fully hand-hewn and showing the hammer marks of its forged origins, this elegant slicer deserves to be enjoyed tableside where dishes are carved and served in the presence of adoring guests. Created at the Philadelphia workshop of bladesmith Steve Pellegrino, this slicing knife features a long, upswept blade of satin-finished 52100 carbon steel. The edge is thin and razor-sharp from heel to tip, with a stiff, sturdy spine until the final inches where Steve has slimmed the blade to a needle's width for versatility and precision. For comfort and a gorgeous aesthetic, high-polished stainless steel is combined with beautiful purple and grey mango wood to form the sculpted handle. Included is a handmade spalted poplar wood saya with steel pin.
