Knives are humanity's oldest tool, integral to our very survival and evolution as a species. They allow us to procure sustenance, to nourish ourselves and our loved ones, enabling us to break bread with friends and strangers alike, and to grow as a civilization. These are the tools which feed us, the most intimate tools in our lives. Their importance to our way of life can not be overstated, just as the innovation, talent, and contribution to society by those skilled artisans who craft them should not be overlooked. The contemporary renditions of this most ancient tool combine function and art like few objects can, and through the works of these 24+ artists, we think you'll agree that a chef's knife can be not just tool and fine art at once, but a bridge between food, art, design, and history.
Representing artists from Austria to Brazil, Australia to California, and beyond.
