"In order to make knives you need skill and passion. The passion is what makes it art, and the skill is what makes it functional art."

Meet The Makers

Timo Verschuren - Netherlands

Timo was just 12 years old when knifemaking first piqued his interest. From Maastricht, Netherlands, Timo was in rural France where a blacksmithing demonstration made him look twice and no sooner, he was off to the races, forging and crafting knives without a second thought. Designing and building for himself the tools he would need to get the job done, from his first forge to the belt grinder used to shape his blade’s bevels, Timo slowly outfitted his workshop according to his exact needs.

Five years in, at 17 while still in high school, reinvesting every penny of income back into the shop, Timo purchased his first power hammer, opening new possibilities and the next phase of his journey. By 18 Timo was crafting one-of-a-kind culinary knives full time, collaborating with some of the biggest names in the business, and earning himself well-deserved accolades along the way. Shaped from homemade damascus patterns, san mai formulas, and high-performance carbon alloys, Timo aims to deliver approachable, function-first chef’s tools that combine elegant and unique details in classic, versatile forms. Thin edges, pronounced distal tapers, and thoughtfully refined geometry are hallmarks of each knife he creates.
