A rare bird from Sydney, Australia, this new and unused 'kitchen sword' as James Oatley calls it, is made available from a private collection as part of our pre-owned offering. Described by James as one of his finest knives, the 350mm / 13.78" blade features S-grind compound bevel geometry, a thin, razor-sharp edge, and a stunning etched finish to bring out the Damasteel's pattern. The orange and yellow dyed handle, cut from a block that James had saved for a special occasion, fills the hand, shows incredible grain and character, and is topped off by a solid Damasteel spacer. The saya is crafted from mulberry wood. A one-of-a-kind heirloom chef's knife.
