Hand forged from 52100 carbon steel with mild steel cladding, an extraordinary takobaki from James Oatley of Oatley Knives. Offering 330mm / 13" of edge, the beautifully hand-sanded blade has forge-finished flats on the right-handed beveled side, and a back side with forced patina adorned with James' engraved mark in script. Holly wood with ebony bolster provides a simple, two-tone look for the handle, shaped in a traditional wa style with a slight taper. A handmade maple saya is included.
