The result of a collaboration between two world-class bladesmiths is so much more than just the sum of its parts. Forged to shape and hardened in Tennessee by Master Bladesmith Jason Knight, the clip-point, Western chef's blade of W2 carbon steel was then delivered to North Carolina maker Charlie Ellis who completed the build, shaping the bolster, the compound bevels, and blade finish, and sculpting the gorgeous handle. At 54mm tall, the strong, versatile blade flows seamlessly outward and downward from a beautifully shaped integral bolster and is finished with a silky, hand-sanded satin finish. Balanced just at the front of the bolster, the 9.1oz / 252g overall weight is solid and engaging in the hand, the compound 'S-grind' bevels providing weight reduction and offering improved food release, while the spine slims steadily to a thin, needle-like tip. The handle, sculpted from African Blackwood with accents of paper micarta and G.L. Hansen & Sons G-carta, is as comfortable as it is elegant.
