Tohka Burgundy Wine Goblet

$245
Delicate and specialized woodturning techniques practiced by only the most highly trained craftspeople in the Ishikawa Prefecture of Japan result in the Tohka collection's exquisite Burgundy Wine Goblet. Designed by Masaharu Asano, each vessel is turned from locally-sourced water betula grossa wood that has been cut across its longitudinal grain, allowing the natural grain to show beautifully, and the cup's striking form to be achieved, from its thin, precisely sculpted foot and stem, to the delicate, soft lip of the bowl. Available in black and natural wiped lacquer finishes, applied using the fukiurushi lacquering technique common to this region for hundreds of years, each goblet bares a smooth, warm, and welcoming feel in the hand, and at the lips. For the home bar and dining room, a handcrafted wooden wine goblet made from generations of dedication and passion for meticulous lacquerware.Show More
