From bladesmith Rick Petko comes a 200mm / 7.87" chef knife as unique in construction as in form. The blade, offering excellent, all-purpose geometry with a shallow grind and hard, sharp edge, is shaped from Rick's house-made, 201 nickel-clad san mai with a core of 1084 carbon steel. The matte, two-tone finish is not only elegant and understated, it also provides a novel and highly functional approach to creating a three-layer blade for a daily use knife. Matched beautifully to the blade is an African Wenge wood handle with black paper micarta frame that tapers perfectly from a wide, tall back to a slim, short grip at the front, comfortable from end to end for a variety of cutting styles.
