Speckled Elm Nakiri 140mm

A one-of-a-kind nakiri by Berlin bladesmith Oliver Märtens, the 140mm long by 56mm tall blade features his hollowed section on the right side, geared especially toward right-handed chefs, lending balance and weight reduction, and adding welcomed food release while slicing vegetables all day long. Thin and hard at the edge, the clean, high-performance 1.2067 carbon steel is completed by Oliver with a working, subtly-matte, machine finish with marks from the hand-forging process visible along the top. Fit and finish is outstanding, the blade's ricasso disappearing in to the solid brass ferrule with contoured edges all around, which in turn is heirloom-fit to a piece of sculpted, stabilized elm wood that is comfortable in the hand and easy on the eyes.
