Bladesmith Casey Vilensky does light, thin, sharp, and fast as well as anyone in the world, and that is exactly how we would describe this gorgeous gyuto forged by hand from Casey's feather pattern carbon damascus. At 251mm / 9.9", the blade is long and versatile, a flat stretch of edge toward the heel providing chopping power, while a very slim and slightly flexible tip raises up to around the 57mm-tall blade's midpoint, perfect for detail work and precision slices. Convex bevel geometry just above the thin edge adds to cutting performance as well as edge stability and toughness. For comfort and control a traditional octagonal handle, tapering nicely from back to front, is carved from a beautiful piece of Arizona Desert Ironwood and fitted with an eye-catching 'Crazy Fiber' ferrule.
