At the edge, approximately 1,000 layers of Muonionalusta meteorite and 1084 carbon steel form a damascus of exceptional density. The Muonionalusta is a material that traveled our solar system for over 4.56 billion years before impacting Earth near what is now Sweden and Finland's border approximately one million years ago, older than the planet it came to rest on. In the cladding is St. Aubin meteorite, one of the rarest on Earth and among the few meteorites with the highest recorded gold content of any known specimen, forged into a san mai alongside carbon steel and brought to a mirror polish that reveals the Widmanstatten pattern inherent to the material: the mathematically precise, crystalline cross-hatch structure formed over billions of years of cooling in the vacuum of space. Preserving this pattern through the heat, pressure, and cooling cycles of the forge and hardening process is a technical achievement mastered by only a handful of bladesmiths worldwide. Tristan is one of them. A line of pure 24k gold visually separates the two materials along the blade's length, the edge's layered meteorite damascus on one side, the brightly polished St. Aubin cladding on the other, the gold itself plated across the blade's surface, part of the object's very skin.

The profile is long, elegant, and purposeful, a slicer's geometry with convex bevels tapering to a refined edge built for the kitchen, the dining room, or repose in its box. Balanced and natural in the hand, Dare marries function and unexpected form with elegance.

The handle is white marble, carved and shaped to fit the hand, its surface mapped with gold leafing pressed into the natural crevices of the stone. At the butt, solid 10k gold teeth, cast individually and set by hand, encircle a white sapphire, the stone catching light from every angle, held in the gold's grip the way a living organism holds its most essential structure at the moment just before decay begins to take it.

The presentation box is the yin to the knife's yang, purposeful and contemplative approach by Tristan in telling the object's full story. Where the knife is white, bright, and gold, the box is dark, burnt and aged, its surface textured with the same organic decay that defines Ketos and Dare's earlier work. 10k gold teeth emerge from its carved edges and corners, mirroring those at the knife's butt. Inside, the knife rests in a carved cradle. A certificate of authenticity, signed and wax-sealed by Tristan, is mounted in the lid.

This is what Ketos looked like before time had its way with it.
